Investment Idea Sharing for June 7, 2013

This Week's Activity – June 7, 2013:
Remember this month’s meeting is Tuesday June 11 at my house.

This week, the Japanese Nikkei 225 index continued the last 2 weeks downhill run, ending on June 7 at 12,877 from being at 15,381 on Monday May 20.  This is now a 17% drop in 3 weeks.  In this same time frame the Dow has only dropped from 15,391 down to 15,248 which is only a 1% drop so the Nikkei is still not causing panic in the U.S. markets, and also no panic in the European markets.  I still think the Dow is too high, and am keeping very high standards for anything I may want to buy.

We have made several improvements to the UltimateStockfinder website to make it easier for new users to find the key information and download links that we provide.  Please take a look and let me know if any of these changes do not make sense to you.  I am happy to talk you through where to find things on the website and that will also help me to understand which pages are not easy to understand and navigate.

Also, we have added a MutualFundEvaluator “Short List” showing funds that are within 3% of their 52 week low AND have less than 3 Red cells.  This week’s list has 39 funds, which is not a very short list.  My goal with these “Short Lists” is to separate out the “Best of the Best” each week so each of us can have fewer stocks and mutual funds to research in hopes of finding a good buy.

StockEvaluator “Short List” has only companies that are within 5% of their 52 week low AND have less than 5 Red cells.  This week’s list has 18 companies out of the 2,200 companies we follow in StockEvaluator.xls.  Since I think the market is too high, I am doing more research on them but not buying yet.  I will let you know if I find a good reason to buy any of these.  Short List shows you companies that require further research to see if they fit your investment objectives.  You can open both of these “Short Lists” from the home page at UltimateStockFinder.com
